Next episode: Wolf and Proper Balance (*)
Comments:
- Animation quality seemed low in the very, very beginning, but picked back up after the first few minutes.
- Lawrence redeems his worthiness in this episode! Whoo!
- Horo reminds us all about why she’s a wolf god, and why humans fear her
- Very surprised that the whole “blood offering” method of transformation came back into play.
- All in all, an interesting episode, though I admit to having many difficulties understanding the latter half of it (mostly when Marheit is talking with Lawrence). I was afraid that Lawrence and Horo would be seperated for an episode or two after Horo turned wolf and vanished, but they were reunited.
- The last scene in the episode was pretty neat, too. Lawrence running around half-naked is pretty hilarious.
I’ll try to finish blogging this later this week, if I’ve recovered enough.

(?) Not sure on what the numbers were for, exactly, but I’m guessing they were coins
(*) It’s a guess. I have no idea how the fansubbers will translate it

I really REALLY liked Lawernce in this episode. In the last one he gave me the impression he was a wuss. NOT SO! He kicks some ass proper! But then he gets shown up by Horo.
- Blood sucking Horo was hawt… very hawt.
- Wolf form Horo. I want one! Sure I’d have to feed it TONS of apples but I still want one!
- Maybe it was me but I didn’t see the point of Marheits story… while somewhat similar to what was going on it came out of nowhere.
- Chloe… you aren’t yandere yet but it might just happen after that. Hope you see what you are up against. ^_^ Go ahead and anger that little Wolf deity again.
Overal this episode was predictable win. You KNEW they had to win. You KNEW Lawrence couldn’t do it alone. You KNEW Horo would have to pick up his slack. You KNEW that Lawrence and Marheit were gonna get shafted in their deal. And you KNEW Horo would never leave him like that. Does that detract from the awesome? Not in any way.
BTW Freaking out Lawrence at the end there was pretty hysterical.
[Just read Tari's last post on Ep 5]
Still think jealousy wasn’t part of her motivation? It may not have been the main one but it was there.
Honestly I think that subtle dark tone adds some depth to the story. It makes me REALLY wonder what will happen when they meet Chloe again… and you know they will.
It has also become apparent that, barring any major plot twists, the Chloe/Horo relationship will be a violent one… unlike many other love-love rivalies in anime. I’m very interested in where this is going.
It was also mentioned that Chloe, the character, was a deviation from the original work? How much so?
Although this episode was predictable I’m having trouble figureing out exactly where the story is headed. I like that very much. It keeps me interested.
Okay, yeah, there was some element of jealousy in there, but at least it was subdued.
Chloe is a new character in the series, unique to the anime. She replaces a number of characters that showed up throughout the light novels, most likely to try to keep the anime’s list of characters smaller and more comprehendable.
The main reason I didn’t think jealousy would play much part in her interactions with Horo was because, at least for this particular arc, she was replacing a male character in the novels (or so I’ve been told).
I’m sorta interested in seeing if she’ll pop up again in the next couple of episodes, seeing as the Medioh company isn’t exactly gunning to turn Horo in to the church at the moment.
